Reverend Kathleen
Now Director of Learning and Innovation for the Texas Methodist Foundation, Kathi is an ordained Elder in the California-Nevada Conference of the United Methodist Church, where she led four congregations and served for eight years as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Pacific School of Religion. Before attending seminary and beginning her life in ministry, she was a civil litigator, practicing law in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Kathi co-founded and continues as Resident Theologian for the Changemaker Initiative, a layperson-empowerment vision that pairs a deep immersion in the Gospel’s stories of Jesus’ compassion with the innovation skills of social entrepreneurs. It is a path of Christian discipleship that invites every person to become a compassion-driven changemaker like Jesus.
In collaboration with Princeton Theological Seminary, she leads a 10-month cohort of senior pastors who will practice leading culture change in their own congregations, using the principles of compassion-driven changemaking. The seminary’s observation and analysis of their progress will help shape a model of theological education that prepares new clergy to be leaders for change.
